Testing for Allergenic and Carcinogenic Dyes

Allergenic dyes refer to certain dyes that can cause allergies in humans or animals' skin, mucous membranes, or respiratory tract. Human inhalation-induced allergies mainly occur in the respiratory tract and mucous membranes, and some reactive dyes (which can be in granular or liquid form) can cause such allergies. The carcinogenicity of dyes means certain dyes can cause tumors or cancer in humans or animals. There are multiple reasons for their carcinogenicity. One is that they can break down under certain conditions to produce carcinogenic chemicals. For example, some azo dyes can decompose to produce carcinogenic aromatic amines under reducing conditions. The other is that the dyes themselves can cause cancer when in direct and long-term contact with humans or animals, and this is what is referred to as carcinogenic dyes in this project.
