Following the release of the "Three - Year Action Plan for Winning the Blue Sky Defense War" by the State Council of the People's Republic of China on July 3, 2018, the State Administration for Market Regulation and the Standardization Administration of China have successively issued 9 national mandatory standards related to VOCs. On June 24, 2020, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of China released the "2020 Volatile Organic Compounds Governance Tackling Plan", vigorously promoting source substitution to reduce the generation of VOCs. It requires enterprises to make preparations for the implementation of national mandatory standards related to VOCs, such as those for coatings, adhesives, inks, and cleaning agents. It also plans to conduct supervision in the summer of 2020 in areas with prominent pollution conditions and among key enterprise clusters involving VOCs.
